NECE is an initiative for networking citizenship education in Europe established by the Federal Agency for Civic Education. Organised as an informal and non-institutionalised network NECE’s primary goal is to promote the Europeanisation of citizenship education, and to contribute to the creation of a European general public as well as to enable the linking of citizenship education across Europe and the cross-border exchange of best practices. The conference is going to take place in Vilnius, Lithuania, one of the two European Capitals of Culture 2009. Recently several direct flight connections to Vilnius have been canceled. The situation will probably change in the months before the conference. Otherwise we will organise a free shuttle service for you from Riga airport to Vilnius. We will be at your disposal any time to help you organise your flight and accommodation.
