NECE is an initiative for networking citizenship education in Europe established by the Federal Agency for Civic Education. Organised as an informal and non-institutionalised network NECE’s primary goal is to promote the Europeanisation of citizenship education, and to contribute to the creation of a European general public as well as to enable the linking of citizenship education across Europe and the cross-border exchange of best practices.

This year’s NECE Networking Conference (Networking European Citizenship Education) should contribute to a profound discussion on setting theoretical models and practices against the growing social erosion all over the continent. The conference will examine the applicability of general areas as well as specific topics from the scope of cultural and citizenship education, contrasting them with best practices and examples of success stories. The conference is aimed at two specific outcomes. The first is to provide a comprehensive examination of the comparability of national educational concepts at the European level. The second is to deliver an in-depth description of the forms of access to the major target groups, both in schools and in extracurricular youth and adult education. Please find attached the  current programme.
